As the National Director for The Animal Protection Agency, Jone’s expertise includes local and national public relations and publicity, outstanding communications acumen, myriad successful outreach campaigns, and a vast knowledge of the intricacies of working with animals; be they rescued, in shelters, in need, or on large, and home, screens. She has utilized her extensive background in entertainment to deliver powerful messaging which advances missions, establishes important cause-marketing, and engages audiences worldwide – always with the human-animal connection being paramount.
As a professional spokesperson both for animals in entertainment and animals in need, Jone was elected to speak on panels for the Academy of Motion Pictures, SAG-AFTRA, the Directors Guild, the Assistant Directors Workshop, and chosen to be the Master of Ceremonies for the launch of the United States Postal Services Stamps To The Rescue with Ellen DeGeneres. In her capacity as an expert in communications and public relations, with a specialty in the animal space, Jone has comprehensively advanced and refined working with animals in productions.
Jone’s cultivation of high-profile celebrity and entertainment industry support and endorsement is exemplified by a successful history of working closely with prominent entertainment figures such as Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Cameron Crowe, Jerry Bruckheimer, Richard Gere, Reese Witherspoon, Rob Pattinson, Matt Damon, Glenn Close, Scarlett Johansson, Zac Efron, Steve Carrel, Morgan Freeman and many others. Charged with detailing and promoting humane animal-action in entertainment, she has worked in a behind-the-scenes capacity as well as an on-set presence with high-profile productions such as War Horse, Django Unchained, Dolphin Tale, the Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter series, We Bought A Zoo, Water For Elephants, Evan Almighty, NCIS, CSI, and True Blood, among many hundreds of other popular films and television programs.
Her background in entertainment began with Saturday Night Live and progressed to positions with MTV, The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Late Night With David Letterman, Universal, Disney, and tour coordination for both Tina Turner and Cyndi Lauper. Eventually Jone applied her entertainment talents in the nonprofit arena with the American Humane Association (National Communications Director – Film & TV Unit), Save The Children, Keep America Beautiful, CARE, the Rainforest Foundation, Amnesty International, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum Center, and was a key participant, as well as a Certified First Responder for Animals in Disaster Situations, in vital recovery and relief projects during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Southeast Asian Tsunami, Hurricane Sandy, and the Oklahoma Tornado disasters. Jone has also been on the ground in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkan areas as a producer for a number of USO tours bringing entertainment to US Military troops during wartime.
