Kaye Gugich, BVSc

Kaye Gugich is a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with a strong passion for animal welfare. Growing up in New Zealand, she had a variety of pets, including chickens, horses, rabbits, goats, and sheep. Her early interest in farm animals led her to pursue a career in veterinary farm practice after graduation. Later, she expanded her expertise through advanced clinical training in Internal Medicine for cats and dogs.

In 2009, Kaye moved to the United Kingdom, where her experience in farm animal care opened the door to her first film set job, working with a stag with full antlers on location. Since then, Kaye has had the privilege of working in film, television, and commercials, handling a diverse range of animal species—from water dragons, snakes, and tortoises, to camels, sloths, raccoons, tigers, and flamingos.

Her role goes beyond simply working with animals; Kaye is committed to building strong relationships with production teams and educating them on best practices for animal safety and welfare. To further this mission, she has undertaken Postgraduate studies in Animal Welfare and One Health, focusing on sustainability and ethical treatment. Kaye views safeguarding animals as an ongoing collaboration with productions to ensure their well-being while fostering a culture of responsibility and education within the industry.
