Humane Education
PREVENT ABUSE: Teach Compassion
“Each teacher shall endeavor to impress upon the minds of the pupils the principles of morality, truth, justice, patriotism…and the meaning of equality and human dignity, including: kindness towards domestic pets and the humane treatment of living creatures…”
California Education Code 235.5
We have several different Humane Education programs to choose from:
All of our humane education programs are free with the exception of the Wildworks Wildlife Program. We offer a program without bringing animals, about the importance of wildlife in our ecosystem.
Feel free to contact us with any further questions.
- The history, care and husbandry of horses in the United States
- Spay and Neuter Programs
- Living humanely with Native Wildlife
Each program can be done with or without animals, depending on your preference and your set-up. We can custom-tailor each program for both young people and adults.
The link between violence towards humans and violence towards animals has been extensively studied and a direct link can be found. The FBI considers animal abuse when assessing the danger potential of violent criminals and for diagnosing troubled youth. By helping to cultivate compassion towards all living creatures, humane education serves as a valuable deterrent to this violence and helps break those cycles for both people and animals.
