Steve Smith
Steve Smith, BVetMed (Hons.), CertZooMed, DipECZM (Avian), MRCVS
Steve is a veterinary surgeon who graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London, UK, in 2002. After 2 years in small animal practice he started a four-year European College of Zoological Medicine internship and residency training program. He gained the RCVS Certificate in Zoological Medicine in 2006 and his European Diploma in Avian Medicine and Surgery in 2011. In 2016, Steve became the sole charge vet at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, which is Europe’s busiest wildlife hospital providing high level veterinary care and rehabilitation, completely free of charge, to around 14,000 British wildlife casualties each year. Steve has lectured widely to students, nurses and vets on various aspects of avian and wildlife veterinary medicine and has recently set up Film & TV Veterinary Services which aims to provide experienced and professional vet-on-set animal action supervision in all types of entertainment production in the UK.
