Teresa Miller

Teresa is a 2nd generation Animal trainer in the Motion picture and Television Industry and has been for over 40 years. She has lived with and trained a variety of animals including dogs, cats, barnyard animals and small wildlife. Her father was Hollywood animal trainer, Karl Lewis Miller. Teresa and her father worked together for 25 years on projects such as “K-9”, “Babe”, “Beethoven” and Stephen King’s “Cats Eye” and “Cujo”. These products were where Teresa learned the importance of working closely with Animal safety consultants and how essential it is to inform the public that the animals appearing in movies and TV shows were treated with the utmost caution, care, respect and kindness. In 1993, Teresa was given the opportunity to travel to Vienna, Austria where she acquired, trained and developed the character of the original German Shepherd “Rex” in the T.V. series “Kommissar (Commissioner) Rex”. The show was a hit series in over 128 countries and continued filming in Europe for 19 years. Teresa’s career has taken her to various locations nationwide and internationally including Austria, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Malta, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mexico, and Canada. Her most recent credits as an animal trainer / coordinator are “The Art of Racing in the Rain”, “White God”, “A Dogs Way Home”, “Cheaper by the Dozen” and the TV show “B-Positive”. As a consultant for The Animal Protection Agency, Teresa is excited to collaborate with productionand animal trainers to organize a safe work environment for the animals, cast and crew.
